Outreaching Hands, registered as ‘The Outreaching Hands Foundation’ is a non-profit, non governmental organization working at the grass-roots level dedicated towards bringing a change in the lives of the less privileged section of the society.
We, at Outreaching Hands, believe that the true transformation can only be visible when we try and educate the young minds. Hence, we work around the fact that education must be given the utmost importance. This can happen only when the kids who are less fortunate also get a chance to go to school.
There are a number of social factors contributing to these kids not going to schools. The most basic ones being hunger and poverty. So, unless we address these basic problems, any efforts towards promoting education among these kids will not make much of a difference.
Our effort is to create a support system for these underprivileged so that they get encouraged to go to school. It doesn’t end for us there. We need to make sure they stay in the school and complete their education. This calls for a system to monitor their progress, a mechanism to address their grievances. In India, we have various Governmental programs which are aimed at the welfare of the underprivileged. We have a very good education system in Government schools which has opened the doors for all sections of the society. We can use these existing system to achieve our objectives of promoting education.
Besides promoting education, Outreaching Hands also carries out various community based programs such as free medical camps, blood donation camps, social awareness programs, self-employment promotions, women empowerment programs and many other useful activities.
